WINTER MAKEUP AND SKIN CARE.

*KEY CONSIDERATIONS

*cold weather is very drying,so use a richer face cream than usual and choose moisturizing and hydrating make-up formulation
*eyes should be pale and iridescent, so white or silver metallic creme is ideal-creme eyeshadow is more moisturizing than powder
*lips need a gloss finish for an icy, shimmery look.

Its imperative to protect your skin from the drying and damaging effect of cold wind and winter sun, prepare your skin in the run-up to your holiday by treating it to a hydration-boosting face mask and extra rich crème to build up its defences against moisture loss.

TOP TIPS :
*Use a gentle exfoliator to lift away dead skin cells and reveal brighter skin beneath. Look for ingredient such as green tea and aloe to calm and protect the skin or essential oils to soften and condition

*Give your skin a moisture boost with a hydrating mask, and use a hydrating serum under your daily moisturizer and a really rich cream at night.

                VARIATIONS

*  Pure white metallic eye shadow looks magical on anyone with naturally pale skin but if your complexion is darker you can achieve a similar ethereal quality by using metallic crème,silver or gunmetal eyeshadow and liner.

* for mid-tone and warmer skin,go for pale peachy blush and lipstick instead of cool blue based pinks, for dark skin choose deep plum shades.

If u have a dry skin type or your skin is dry, choose a moisturizing liquid foundation and don't use powder.

                      EYES

Tidy the brows and lightly define the shape. Pat a little concealer or eye primer over the lids and at the corners of the eyes if necessary to neutralize any redness. Using a white eye liner pencil
1.outline the eyes all the way around, including the inner corners, and draw along the inner rim of the lower lids. Apply a wash of crème matte eye-shadow
2.over the lids from the lash line to the browbone. Using a synthetic brush, apply frosty metallic crème eyeshadow
3. Over the lids, blending it from the lash line to the socket crease, apply lengthening, brown mascara to the upper lashes only.

                       FACE

* Use a moisturizer to form a protective barrier against the drying effect of cold weather. Apply moisturizing radiance boosting-liquid foundation.
* To even out skin tone and give and iridescent quality pat in concealer where needed to hide any blemishes and neutralize redness which can be exacerbated by cold weather. Blend cool pink crème blush over the cheek bone for a natural looking flush. Dust the face with ultra fine translucent powder for a velvety smooth finish.

                WINTER SUN

It may be cold, but when you are out in the winter sun it's as important as ever to wear products with the right level of protection for your skin for both face and hands.

1. High SPF sunscreen often contain mineral blocks, which tend to sit visibly on the skin, while these may be the best option for very sensitive skin, you need to blend foundation twice as carefully to ensure proper absorption.
2. Look for SPF 25 in your moisturizer. If you are going outside in freezing temperatures an oil based moisturizer will be the best even if your skin is prone to oilness, because water can freeze on the face which causes a burning sensations.
3. As the delicate eye area needs only light moisturization, use your usual eye cream, but make sure you cover well with a foundation or concealer that contains a high SPF.
4. While there us no harm in layering products with SPF(sun protection factor), they don't add together - a moisturizer with SPF 15 and foundation with SPF 10 gives you SPF 15 not 25.
5. As lips have no oil glands, they easily becomes chapped by the cold as well burnt by the sun. Petroleum based product form a barrier that can actually be more drying in the long time, instead look for natural balms.
